Team E-Cycle Won The Malaysian Leg Of SEA Makerthon 2016

CYBERJAYA, 12 October 2016 --- Team E-Cycle won the grand prize for the Malaysian leg of the South-East Asia Makerthon 2016 held in Cyberjaya recently. The team won the competition for their product E-Cycle Box during the 36-hour application development contest. The e-waste collection box also known as E-Cycle Box is aim to encourage waste disposal and recycling by rewarding users.
With the victory, Team E-Cycle will be competing in the Grand Finale of South-East Asia Makerthon 2016 in Singapore scheduled to be held this weekend in conjunction with InnovASEAN. They will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas to investors and compete with the other nine winners from the respective leg held in other ASEAN countries earlier.
Team Alfred came in second place with their innovation of the Smart Mirror while Team Herion secured third-placing finish with their product called Herbs Intelligent Organic Nursery system. Senior Director Technology and Society Division of MCMC, Aisharuddin Nuruddin presented the prizes to the winning teams.

South-East Asia Makerthon took place at the MCMC Old Headquarter in Cyberjaya. More than 100 individuals took part in this inaugural Makerthon challenge which drew overwhelming response from students, hobbyists and entrepreneurs.
