SKMM is the regulator for postal services in Malaysia.

The Postal Services Act 1991 seeks SKMM to ensure the high quality conveyance of Postal articles and to protect the interest of users of postal services.


The National Postal Strategy sets out a roadmap for the Malaysian postal and courier sector 

to maintain the relevance of the sector in the overall development of the nation.

Community Broadband Centers

The Government through SKMM has set up Community Broadband Centers (CBC) to provide collective community Internet access to remote areas identified under the Universal Service Provision (USP) program. Each CBC set up is equipped with IT equipment and personal computers connected to internet broadband access to allow rural communities to enjoy the benefits of the internet.

To further improve their social and economic status, software and training is also provided at each CBC. It is hoped that the setting up of CBCs will contribute towards achieving success in the national initiative to bridge the digital divide between urban and rural communities, in line with the objectives outlined in the National Broadband Implementation Strategy and MyICMS 886 Technology Roadmap.

Targeted Areas

It is our target to set up a CBC in each remote area identified under the Universal Service Provision (USP) program. However, in some instances certain areas may have more than one CBC to meet larger population demand and will from time to time be increased as the demand grows.
