181. E Side The network provider's side of any termination point enabling the network provider to carry or provide telecommunications services to the customer. REG - T 007

184. Earth-Termination System Part of an external LPS which is intended to conduct and disperse lightning current to the earth. REG - R 002
185. Electronic Transaction Service An applications service which utilises network services and information processing to conduct and achieve or support end user or third party transactions. LEO
186. Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon A radiolocation station, the emissions of which are intended to facilitate search and rescue operations. SR
187. Emergency Service A service denoted by a specific short code such as 99X or 112 are either received by an operator (who will connect the caller to the police, ambulance or fire brigade) or terminated at a particular emergency service directly. REG - T 010
188. Endpoints The interface between the customers and the equipment providing access to the service. REG - Q 001
189. Endpoints End-to-end connection from telephone connection point at the originating switch to the telephone connection point at the terminating switch. REG - Q 002
190. Endpoints service availability The percentage of time a useable call can be established and maintained between two endpoints measured within the service. REG-Q 001
191. Equal Access The ability of long distance and international gateway operators to compete in providing users of PSTN, equitable and equal opportunities to access or use the their services by means of specific customer access arrangements. TRD 001
192. Exchange Line Capacity This refers to the maximum number of main lines, which can be connected to the public switched network. This number includes main lines already connected and main lines available for future connection, including those used for technical operation of the exchange (test numbers). ITU (Telephone Network)
193. Experimental Station A fixed station or mobile station used for research and development, educational or demonstration purposes. SR
194. External Lightning Protection System A system that consists of Air-Termination System, a Down-Conductor System and Earth-Termination System. REG - R 002
195. External Wall The outer wall of building, not being a party wall or an external wall, notwithstanding that it may immediately adjoin a wall of another building. REG - R 002
