306. Maritime Mobile Earth Station A mobile station in the maritime mobile-satellite service. SR
307. Maritime Mobile Service A mobile service between a coast station and a ship station, or between ship stations, or between associated on-board stations and includes a survival craft station and emergency position indicating radiobeacon stations. SR
308. Maritime Mobile-Satellite Service A mobile satellite-service in which mobile earth stations are located on board vessels and includes a survival craft station and emergency position indicating radio beacon stations. SR
309. Marketing Plan A marketing prepared by the Commission under regulation 6 of the Communications and Multimedia (Spectrum) Regulations 2000 and forms part of the spectrum plan. SR
310. Mass Calling Service A service intended for customers, which generate high volume, short duration call traffic. For example, Televoting. REG - T 010
311. Medical and Biological Telemetry Device A low power device used for medical and biological telemetry. SEO
312. Messaging Service An applications service which involves the storage or forwarding of a message in the form of text or voice communication by means of circuit switching whereby the message is first routed through a central management centre before it is forwarded to the addressee. LR
313. Mini Tower A structure made of steel constructed on a roof top which is tapering and normally standing at the height of below 30 meters. REG - R 002

315. Minister The Minister for the time being charged with the responsibility for communications and multimedia. CMA
316. Minor Interference Electromagnetic interference which does not affect the overall operation of any radiocommunications transmission. SR
317. Mobile cellular telephone services operators Those that are licensed under Section 3B of Telecommunications Act. REG - Q 001
318. Mobile Earth Station A transportable earth station. SR
319. Mobile Satellite Service A radiocommunications service
(a) between a mobile earth station and one or more space stations, or between space stations used by this service; or
(b) between mobile earth stations by means of one or more space stations, and may also include feeder links which are necessary for its operation.

325. Multimedia A representation of information characterized by the simultaneous use of more than one form of media such a text, graphics, data. audio and video. REG - R 003
326. Multimedia Information And Content Digitised content. CMA
327. Multiple access Any technique whereby a number of terminals are able to share the transmission capacity of a link in a predetermined manner or in accordance with traffic demand. ITU
328. Multiplexing A reversible process for assembling signals from several separate sources into a single composite signal for transmission over a common transmission channel; this process is equivalent to dividing the common channel into distinct channels for transmitting independent signals in the same direction.
