(a) a transmitter and link designed or intended to be used for the purpose of radiocommunications; or
(b) anything designed or intended to be ancillary to, or associated with, such transmitter and link for the purposes of radiocommunications.

419. Radiodetermination The determination of the position, velocity, direction and other characteristics of an object or for obtaining information relating to the object by means of the spectrum. SR
420. Radiodetermination Service A radiocommunications service for the purpose of radiodetermination. SR
421. Radiodetermination Station A station used for the purpose of radiodetermination. SR
422. Radiolocation Service A radiodetermination service used for the purpose of radiolocation. SR
423. Radiolocation Station A radiodetermination station used in the radiolocation service for purposes other than radionavigation services. SR
424. Radionavigation Service A service for the purpose of navigation including the purpose of announcing obstruction warnings. SR
425. Radionavigation Station A radiodetermination station used for the purpose of radionavigation service. SR
426. Radio-sensitive Radiocommunications Device Any device, equipment or machinery, other than a station, the use or function of which is or can be adversely affected by electromagnetic emissions from any station. SR
427. Real GDP Growth Real GDP refers to the GDP after accounting for inflation. Real GDP growth is the increase of the GDP over a period of time, usually on an annual basis, net of inflation. ITU (Demographic, Economy)
428. Receiver Any station designed or intended for the purpose of radiocommunication reception including any device designed to be used together with or ancillary to in association with such a receiver. SR
429. Region Regional administrative boundary of Jabatan Telekomunikasi Malaysia. REG - Q 002
430. Register Any one of the registers established or maintained by the Commission for the purposes of this Act. CMA
431. Register Of Opinions The register of opinions maintained under section 97 or 210, or any other relevant section. CMA
432. Registration Notice A registration notice submitted under section 45 of the Act. LR
433. Remote alarm The alerting of a central point by telecommunication to the occurrence of an unwanted situation or event. ITU
434. Remote areas Areas that exhibit one or more the following characteristics:
(a) Either the area is a long distance away from urban centers or, if a short distance, then topographical conditions preclude easy access to the urban centers and
(b) Scarcity or absences of public facilities like reliable electricity supply, water, access roads and regular transport.

435. Remote Control Consumer Device A device which is occasionally used to remotely control by method of low power radio emissions, consumer devices including, but not limited to, remote controlled doors, air-conditioners, gates, locks, video equipment and toys. SEO
436. Remote Control Station A fixed station or mobile station controlled by radiocommunications signal from a remote side. SR
437. Repealed Acts The repealed Telecommunications Act 1950 [Act 20] and the Broadcasting Act 1988 [Act 338]. LR
438. Required Applications Service An applications service which is in a list determined by the Minister under section 192. CMA
439. Residential premise A parcel of land consisting of buildings designed, adapted or used for residential habitation and shall include semi-detached buildings, detached buildings and terrace houses. REG - T 007
440. Roof Mounted Frame A steel structure or frame erected on roof top or mounted to the wall for the purpose of telecommunications equipment. REG - R 002
441. Room Any portion of a building enclosed by wall or Partitions. REG - R 002
442. Router Internetworking Internet traffic management which is controlled interdependently of the network service on which it is delivered. LEO
443. Rural Areas that exhibit one or more of the following characteristics:
(a) Low population density with people are residing in small and scattered settlements, villages, small towns and farms
(b) Economic activity is limited to agriculture, fishing or cottage industries and
(c) There is simplicity of life where people are primarily concerned with survival and basic needs.
