What We Do

Licences under the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998
Individual Licence Application

A person who wishes to provide facilities and/or services which require an individual licence will have to submit the following to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission:

  • a duly completed Form A together with an application fee of RM10,000.00;
  • details as per the checklist attached
  • Application template; and
  • such other additional information or document as may be requested by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission shall complete processing the application and make a recommendation to the Minister within 60 days of receipt of all relevant information from the applicant. If the Minister agrees with the recommendation of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission, the Minister will grant an individual licence to the applicant.

Fees

For an Individual Licence the appicable licence fees are as follows:

a) Application Fee - RM10,000.00 (non refundable)
b) Approval Fee - RM50,000.00
c) Annual Fee - 0.5% of Gross Annual Turnover or RM50,000 - whichever is higher

Rebates

The Communication and Multimedia (Licensing) Regulations 2000 provides rebates on applicable annual fees for holders of individual licenses.

In order to obtain rebates on the annual fees payable, the individual licensee must have incurred expenses on items related to industry development.

Individual Licensee who wishes to apply for rebates on annual fees payable will have to submit the following to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission:

a) A duly completed
Application Form For Rebates; Word | PDF
b) Details as per the Checklist attached;
c) Self calculation of rebate entitlement; Sample | Template
d) Attachments on the applicable Industry Development Rebates. For further information and guidelines, please refer to "Appendices to Information Paper on Industry Development Rebates
(refer to pages 20 to 28) "; and


- Such other additional information or document as may be requested by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission.
