MCMC is not allowed to give a suspect's personal information obtained through our investigation to the complainant or the public. MCMC can only submit information to the investigating authority or to the court.
For your information, MCMC keeps neither the information about Internet consumption nor personal details of Internet users in Malaysia. In addition, MCMC does not possess detailed information about blog owners/writers or social networking website accounts, email owners’ information and IP addresses used except when they are obtained during MCMC investigation under the enforced Acts.
If you wish to obtain a suspect’s information for civil legal action, you need to secure court order and serve the order to the relevant parties, such as the Internet service or web-hosting service provider, to request for the relevant information.
