An Apparatus Assignment confers rights to a person or company with an operating license to use or operate telecommunication apparatus in a specific frequency band. The need to assign apparatus came about due to:
- the impact of frequency interference
- the need to scan the usage of frequency
- threat to safety due to incorrect use of an apparatus
- the level of congestion within the spectrum range required
- compliance with technical standard requirements
Apparatus Assignment is divided into 6 types:
1. Fixed
- Coast Station
- Aeronautical Fixed Station
- Press Receiving Station
- Earth Station (less than 2.4 meters)
- Earth Station (2.4 meters and above)
- Experimental Station
- Fixed Station
- Land Station (less than 30 MHz)
- Land Station (30 MHz up to 2 GHz)
- Land Station (more than 2 GHz)
