MCMC CARE Scholarship


Programme Summary

MCMC CARE Scholarship is a needs-based scholarship programme designed specifically for Malaysian students who have either obtained admission or are currently in their first year of a bachelor's degree programme at local public universities. This programme aims to provide financial support and educational opportunities to students who face economic challenges, enabling them to pursue their undergraduate studies in fields related to the Communications and Multimedia (C&M) industry.


Eligibility Criteria:

Obtained admission to pursue studies (conditional offer can be considered) or currently in the first year of a bachelor’s degree programme at any local public universities in these fields:
  • AI & Data Science
  • Internet of Things (IoT)
  • ​Information and Network Security, including Cybersecurity
  • Telecommunications
  • ​Broadcasting and Media
  • Engineering
  • ​Policy, Law & Regulatory Management
  • Urban Planning and Management
  • ​Economics & Finance 
Applications open on 21 May 2026 (12:00 PM MYT) and closes on 19 June 2026 (3:00 PM MYT).

This full scholarship covers university fees, monthly subsistence allowance, book allowance and others allowance.
 

No, there is no bond required for the MCMC CARE Scholarship.

MCMC conducts a thorough and rigorous selection process to choose scholarship recipients. Shortlisted candidates will be required to take a psychometric assessment and attend an interview session, as determined by MCMC.

No, the scholarship is available only to full-time students.

MCMC only provides scholarships for undergraduate studies for now.

Candidates who are currently bonded with other scholarship providers are not eligible to apply.

However, candidates who are currently receiving zakat assistance or any form of financial aid from other organisations without an obligation to serve a scholarship bond, are eligible to apply for MCMC CARE. Nevertheless, candidates must terminate their current financial aid upon accepting a scholarship or bursary from MCMC.

The application window will open tentatively in May 2026. Announcements will be made via MCMC social media channels.
