OVERVIEW

As the Fourth Industrial Revolution sweeps over the global front, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) is entasked with the challenges to bring the nation one step ahead in the digital era. Understanding that this new industrial revolution brings on bigger and more intricate challenges, MCMC has positioned itself as the key driver to prepare Malaysia with the platform for borderless information, brought forward by the next big trends namely 5G, Internet of Things (IoT), Smart Cities, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain, etc.
 
These emerging technologies will empower the general public with sophisticated applications and services which they can use in their daily lives and in return contributing to greater efficiency, higher productivity, and better quality of life. MCMC has formed various initiatives with the aims to accelerate the adoption of new technologies, create more maker communities and advocate digital inclusion for all Malaysian citizen.

OBJECTIVE

Awareness on the latest technological advances

  • Create awareness on the latest and emerging technologies in the communications and multimedia industry, on how the industry stakeholders can contribute towards and benefit from it

Promotion of technology adoption and migration

  • Promote technology migration that will enable businesses and organisations to manage results at superfast speeds, resulting in valuable insights that can influence the organisation’s outlook and boost the decision-making process

Ethical and responsible technology usage

  • Promote responsible technology practices that are in accordance to the legal and regulatory requirements

Platform for stakeholders’ engagement

  • Provide a platform for the industry stakeholders to highlight and discuss on the latest and emerging technology applications, developments and challenges faced in line with the Industry 4.0 Revolution

Presentation of technology applications

  • See how the current technologies are used and applied across multiple industries, considering the design-build-operate life cycle that increasingly defines today’s digital lifestyle
