YBhg. Datuk Zainal Abidin bin Abu Hassan
YBhg. Datuk Zainal Abidin bin Abu Hassan was appointed as a Commission Member of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission on 7 July 2020, for a period of two (2) years.
YBhg. Datuk Zainal Abidin graduated from Universiti Pertanian Malaysia (UPM) with a Bachelor of Science (Human Development). He also holds a Diploma of Public Administration from the Institut Tadbiran Awam Negara (INTAN) and a Master of Public Administration from the University of New Haven, the United States in 1994.
He has over 30 years of experience in civil service. He started his career as Administrative and Diplomatic Officer, Public Service Department (JPA) in 1988. Prior to his current appointment as the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT), Datuk Zainal Abidin had served various Government agencies such as Subang Jaya Municipal Council, Ministry of Higher Education, National Civics Bureau (BTN), Ministry of Home Affairs and Prime Minister’s Office.
YBhg. Datuk Zainal Abidin is currently a board member of the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB). He also served as the board member of Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) (2007 - 2013), Perbadanan Tabung Pembangunan Kemahiran (PTPK) (2016 - 2018), Malaysia Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT) (2017 – 2019) and Perbadanan Stadium Malaysia (2017 – 2019).
On 1 February 2017, he was conferred with Darjah Kebesaran Panglima Mahkota Wilayah (P.M.W) by His Majesty Sultan Muhammad V, the 15th Yang di-Pertuan Agong, which carries the title ‘Datuk’.
