Background
When a disaster strikes, the limitations of communication channels become one of the greatest obstacles. Access to affected areas may be blocked, power supply disrupted, while telephone lines and internet coverage vanish in an instant. In such urgent situations, rescue teams face difficulties in communicating, coordinating aid, and delivering timely information, thereby increasing the risk of delays in rescue missions. Recognizing the critical importance of communication in such critical moments, MCMC PRIME was established – the Primal Radiocommunications and Internet on the Move (“PRIME”)
MCMC PRIME was developed as a mobile communication system that combines various technologies such as satellite, cellular, mobile radio, Wi-Fi to drones to ensure connectivity never stops. It is designed to support emergency and disaster operations, even in remote or affected areas. With the slogan "Ketersambungan Tanpa Batasan", MCMC PRIME also plays a role in ensuring that critical communication can be achieved at any time and under any circumstances.
MCMC PRIME has a clear mission to strengthen MCMC's preparedness to be able to act quickly and effectively during crises. It provides reliable and flexible communication channels, adapting to the needs as well as challenges at the operational site. At the same time, MCMC PRIME is also used for community outreach programmes, so that the benefits are felt not only in emergencies, but also in efforts to build close relationships with the community.
