A stronger, more secure Internet starts today.
MCMC, together with the Malaysian Technical Standards Forum Bhd. (MTSFB), successfully hosted the IPv6 Awareness Seminar 2026, officiated by MCMC Managing Director, YBrs. En. Abdul Karim Fakir Ali.
The seminar brought together representatives from Government agencies, communications service providers, industry, academia and the technical community to accelerate Malaysia’s transition to IPv6 - the Internet addressing standard designed to support the rapidly growing number of connected devices, strengthen cybersecurity, improve network performance, and enable future technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT) and smart cities.
A key highlight was the launch of the Malaysia IPv6-only Adoption Action Plan 2026–2030, outlining the nation’s roadmap towards an IPv6-First future by prioritising IPv6 implementation for public-facing services. This will help build a more resilient, scalable and future-ready digital infrastructure to support innovation, economic growth and better online experiences for Malaysians.
With over 260 participants, the seminar reflected the strong commitment of the public and private sectors to achieving 100% IPv6 adoption for public-facing services by 31 December 2030.
Together, we’re building a digital future that is safer, smarter and ready for tomorrow.
