KUALA LUMPUR: The Jalinan Digital Negara (Jendela) map is now readily accessible via a new website called Jendela Portal, under the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission’s (MCMC) website.

Chairman Dr Fadhlullah Suhaimi Abdul Malek said that in general, Jendela Map has three main functionalities which include coverage map, users’ feedback, and feedback status.

To check telco coverage in any given area, he said users just need to pinpoint the location and then choose the network type and telco.

“At the moment, the Jendela Map includes 4G, 3G and 2G as well as the national digital TV broadcast, myFreeview,” he told a virtual media briefing on MCMC’s third quarterly report detailing the latest development and progress of the national digital infrastructure plan, Jalinan Digital Negara (Jendela) today.

For fixed and wireless broadband service, he said users have to use the feedback submission feature instead which would list all the available services at the said location, before they can begin the submission process.

“Through this feature, you can report network issues such as call drops, downtime and coverage problem,” he said.

Meanwhile, he said a total of 342,424 premises had been covered with broadband through the implementation of Jendela as at June 30, which exceeded the initial target of 184,802, while 52 new sites had been set up so far compared to the initial target of only 46 sites.
