MCMC has published Technical Codes for the testing and certification for communications equipment. The documents deal primarily with the technical requirements for safety, use of frequency bands, interoperability and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).

In situations where a technical code is not available, the certification may be performed based on the relevant national or international standards. The equipment must also meet the radio frequency requirements specified in the relevant MCMC documents such as spectrum plan, class assignment and standards radio system plan (SRSP).
