Spectrum Assignment

A spectrum assignment confers rights on a person to use one or more specified frequency bands for any purpose consistent with assignment conditions set by MCMC. The IMT-2000 (3G), 900MHz and 1800MHz assignments are examples of spectrum assignments.

Use of specified frequency band to be assigned must be consistent with the Spectrum Plan. Spectrum assignment is valid of up to a maximum period of 20 years and the assignment holder may transfer the spectrum subject to conditions of the spectrum assignment.

Spectrum Assignment Application

Spectrum assignment application can only be submitted to MCMC when an Applicant Information Package (AIP) is issued. The AIP contains information on how to apply for spectrum assignment of a specific frequency band.
