JEJAK DIGITAL PARTICIPATION IN KL CONVERGE 2015, KL CONVENTION CENTRE


In conjunction with KL Converge!, Jejak Digital pavilion will be set up to showcase MCMC’s initiatives to promote digital citizenship based on the national policy objectives of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998. MCMC’s advocacy and digital empowerment initiatives are based on the key principles of promoting civil society; enhancement to quality of life; cultural representation; national identity; diversity; long-term benefit of the end user; development of capabilities and skills; and information security, network reliability and integrity.

The Jejak Digital objectives are:

• To work to increase digital empowerment among Malaysians, in particular to promote inclusive practices by ensuring access by underserved communities and in underserved areas;

• Create awareness of the importance of digital and media literacy;

• Encourage participation and collaboration in the digital environment by recognizing digital leadership; and

• To establish MCMC as a trusted agency for the development and regulation of the communications and multimedia sector.

The activities in the pavilion during the event would include educational talks, information booths, performances by invited artistes, interactive games, Selfie’s photo booth, lucky draw and others.
