The MCMC Research Symposium is an annual event showcasing progress and finding of MCMC research funding under the Networked Media Research Collaboration Programme (NMRCP).
For 2018 the symposium is a collaboration between MCMC’s Advocacy and Outreach Division and MCMC Academy together with UNICEF Malaysia. The collaboration leverages on ongoing efforts of these stakeholders’ initiatives to ensure safe and productive interaction with communications technology and the internet, and research into the implication of technology on society.
The theme for the 2018 MCMC Research Symposium is “Maximising Individual and Societal Participation in the Digital Economy through Digital Inclusion” and will present discussions and presentations of key issues pertaining to societal opportunities, challenges and gaps in the digital age pertaining to the promotion and fulfilment of a digital civil society, with focus and sharing on issues and ongoing research related to:
- Children and the Digital Age,
- Cyber Wellness and Digital Citizenship and
- Digital Inclusion for All
