8 January 2014: STA 2010 - Regulatory Compliance Seminar

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (SKMM) in collaboration with the Strategic Trade Secretariat, Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), will be organizing a one day Strategic Trade Act 2010 Regulatory Compliance Seminar which is to be held as follows:

Date :   8 January 2014 (Wednesday)
Venue :   Auditorium, SKMM Headquarters, Cyberjaya
Time :   8:30 am – 4:30 pm

The 1-day seminar aims to

(i)
 
   Create awareness and increase knowledge amongst exporters about their responsibilities to comply with STA permit requirements;
     
(ii)
 
  Create awareness on export compliance requirements for intangible technology transfer under STA 2010
     
(iii)   Update the participants on implementation of STA 2010 and related laws; and
     
(iv)

 
  Provide opportunity for participants to engage and interact directly with STA agencies on compliance issues in order to enhance trade facilitation in a secure trading environment.

The target audiences for the seminar are specifically companies dealing with exports of strategic goods under categories 3, 4 and 5 of the Strategic Trade Act 2010. However, manufacturers, exporters, logistics providers and freight forwarders dealing with strategic goods or strategic goods technology other than the specified categories under the Strategic Trade Act 2010 are also encouraged to attend the Seminar.
