15 Jan 2013, The Star

The new Celcom 4G LTE Experience Hubs were unveiled at the company’s headquarters in Menara Celcom and at its flagship Blue Cube store at Sunway Pyramid recently.

The Expericen Hubs are set to showcase LTE-enabled smartphones and tablets that will ride on Celcom’s new 4G LTE network, to be rolled out over the next six months.

Celcom Axiata chief executive officer Datuk Seri Shazalli Ramly said: “Celcom is ready to usher our customers into the New Year by offering them a taste of the lighting-fast speeds that will be integral to our widest, fast and stable nationwide network.

“Customers who demand unparalleled connectivity within the Celcom Territory can look forward to a premium 4G network that steps up to their ever-changing mobile lifestyles and data usage with the introduction of innovative consumer offerings, which will be annouced soon.”

The Celcom 4G LTE Experience Hubs will ride on the 2,600MHz LTE spectrum — which will enable visitors to experience speeds of up to 10 times faster than what customers experience today — while providing a preview for the Celcom 4G LTE commercial offerings that will be launched soon.

This launch comes soon after the allocation of the 2,600MHz spectrum by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission to telecommunication service providers.

In preparing for the allocation, Celcom had been worked with its network infrastructure partners since 2011 to create a world-class, LTE-ready mobile network on a single RAN (Radio Access Network) platform, allowing for speedy and seamless network upgrades across its 2G, 3G, and 4G networks.
