06 May 2012, The Borneo Post
SANDAKAN: Recipients of 1Malaysia notebook may contact their notebook’s supplier if they face problem with the notebook. Director of Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) for Sabah and Labuan region, Haji Bukhari Yahya admitted that the MCMC had received several complaints about the 1Malaysian notebook status. “We had received several complaints regarding the 1Malaysia notebooks, most of those reported cases were channeled to parliament offices before the users were directed to contact the notebook’s supplier. “However, most of the cases reported were caused by the users who had installed an inappropriate software to their notebook,” he said, adding that there were also several cases of negligence during usage. Indeed any electronics devices are sensitive and it depends on the user to use it properly, Bukhari said after the presentation of 1Malaysia notebooks (Phase 3) at Pavilion Hotel, yesterday. Libaran Member of Parliament Datuk Juslie KK Ajirol presented 1Malaysia notebooks to 300 recipients from Libaran parliamentary constituency. Bukhari said, as of April this year, the Internet coverage in Sabah had reached 33.2 percent.
