07 Dec 2007, The Star
JOHOR BARU: The Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has seized a parabolic satellite dish illegally installed at a house here. An enforcement team raided the house in Redang Villa after a tip-off and removed the dish Friday morning. The commission’s southern region director Bukhari Yahya urged those using such dishes illegally to remove them before action was taken. Installing the device without approval is an offence under Section 239 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998. If convicted, a person can be fined up to RM100,000 or jailed up to two years, or both.
