The services rendered by the Certification Authorities (CA) which is regulated by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) under the Digital Signature Act (DSA) 1997 is a trustworthy system and as at Q4 2018 12.4 million certificates has been issued by the four (4) licensed CA.

All licensed CA in Malaysia must undergo mandatory annual performance audit carried out by qualified auditors who have expertise in digital signature technology, standards and practices to ensure the trustworthiness of the licensed CA’s system.

The auditing process by the qualified auditors is based on the WebTrust International Standard used by majority of licensed CA in the world. Moreover, the subscribers to the services is protected by suitable guarantee provided by the CA as required under the DSA 1997.
