Someone created a false website that copied content from my website (company, private, or group). What action can be taken?

You are encouraged to personally lodge a complaint to the website operator or hosting provider and request that the false website be removed due to impersonation.

If there is no action taken, depending on the facts of the case, it could be related to two (2) types of offense:

1. Fraud activities - you can lodge a report to the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) as this is an offense under the Penal Code.

2. Copyright infringement - If a trademark or other copyrights are infringed, complaints can be lodged to the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living ("KPDN"), KPDN which will then investigate the offense under the Trademarks Act 1976 or Copyright Act 1987.
